In 1963, Canadian architects and urban planners, Arthur Erickson and Geoffrey Massey led the winning design for Simon Fraser University (SFU). The plaza serves a double function as a public space and as a roof sheltering education spaces beneath. The SFU Plaza Renewal Project is a multi-phase extensive renovation and refreshment of the Academic Quadrangle, Convocation Mall areas and Transportation Centre.

Bega products are known for their superior quality and durability and thus suite the project perfectly as the goal is to preserve the iconic architectural masterpiece of SFU. Bega Bollards are used around the Information Center and rooftop around the rooftop dome. Surface mounted downlights evenly illuminate the walkway at the Convocation Mall. Diffusion SL3 Outdoor Wide Linear LED Strips are used throughout the plaza’s pathways and stairs to improve visibility and safety.
